The USSSA League Program is designed to be hassle free with the understanding that less is better. The rules by which a league is required to follow are very liberal because we fully understand that what may work in California or Florida, may not work in your community.The program offers two very distinct league formats that are similar in design yet separate in function. Both formats are briefly described below and leagues choose one or the other or both depending on the leagues size and make-up. Regardless of the format, all leagues qualify teams for post-season play.
All-Star Leagues...
The All-Star League format is designed for local league based programs that are accustomed to choosing an All-Star team or multiple All-Star teams at the end of the regular season schedule to represent the community in post-season tournament play. These leagues will play a regular season then choose (draft, pick, select) an All-Star Team or All-Star Teams for the USSSA State Championships Tournament and possibly World Series play. The selection of players to the All-Star Team(s) may be done by any system or format approved by the League Board of Directors or Chief Officer as long as such method is used consistently age division by age division throughout the league.Park Leagues...
The Park League format is designed for local league based programs that are accustomed to sending their better regular season teams to represent the community in post-season play. These leagues will play a regular season schedule then based on the number of teams registered in the league, advance the appropriate number of teams for the USSSA State Championships and possibly World Series play. Park League teams are allowed to add up to three additional players to their roster for post-season play from within their park. The selection of players to the Park League Teams may be done by any system or format approved by the League Board of Directors or Chief Officer as long as such method is used consistently age division by age division throughout the league.League Manual...
