We have officially kicked off our Spring 2010 season with the MLK Memorial Classic this past weekend in Leesburg, Florida. Despite the rain, the event was a great success! Around 40 teams competing during our pre-season event. Congratulations to all our winners and a special thanks to all the teams who participated. Be on the lookout for important rules and pitching changes we will update on our website this week. In addition, we have added a number of exciting new programs to enhance each team’s experience playing USSSA in Central Florida.
Our feature picture for this week is the Ocala Blaze 14U. They were crowned the first 14U champions of the 2010 spring season. The Ocala Blaze went 0-2 during the opening day of the MLK Memorial Classic. Their first lost in pool play was a close game against the Central Florida Sting. On championship day, they faced the Central Florida Sting a final time in the championship game defeating them 7-4. They finished the weekend with a 3-2 record. Congratulations to our 14U Champions of the MLK Memorial Classic – Ocala Blaze!
